Traumatic Stress service
We can help you if you’ve suffered a trauma or are struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
We specialise in treating:
- Adult survivors of childhood abuse
- Military veterans
- People struggling with feelings of shame
Once you’ve been referred into our service, we’ll ask you to ‘opt-in’ for an assessment to make sure that this is the best treatment option for you. If we think that you’d benefit more from another service, we’ll suggest another referral.
If this is the right service for you, we’ll sign you up for our group or individual therapy. We’ll also invite you to start your therapy with an educational group session about ‘Understanding and coping with PTSD’.
At each stage of your treatment, we’ll send you a letter inviting you to take part. Each time, you’ll need to call us and ‘opt-in’ for treatment.
To access our service, your healthcare professional needs to refer you through our Common Point of Entry (CPE) team.

We take referrals from Berkshire but, as a national centre of excellence, we also take referrals nationally when funding has been agreed.
Once your referral has been accepted, you will be invited to ‘opt-in’ to our service and begin your assessment.
