HealthMakers peer support and self-management

Whether you’re living with physical or mental health difficulties, or struggling with your general wellbeing, you may be finding it difficult to cope or adjust at the moment.

Our HealthMaker volunteers can help you become more confident in managing and improving your health and wellbeing, by sharing their own experiences to encourage and guide you.

To keep you and our HealthMakers community safe, we’re currently providing all our sessions virtually using the system One Consultation.

We can talk you through how to get involved in each session when you join.

We offer a combination of both peer support and structured self-management courses and workshops to help you learn essential skills to help you feel able to better manage your own wellbeing.

Supporting services

Our HealthMakers volunteers will listen to you and offer peer support and advice on other appropriate services for your situation. They can support you to self-refer or assist with the referral to other services if we think it will help.

We work closely with our Wellbeing Service and Talking Therapies Service, as well as self-care and prevention services across East Berkshire.

While we can offer support around issues affecting your mental health and emotional wellbeing, we’re not a specialist mental health service.

If we think it will help you, we may guide you to one of our mental health services.
