Veterans' Mental Health Complex Treatment Service

We provide intensive care for ex-service personnel with complex mental health problems (connected to time spent in the military) which haven’t been resolved during earlier treatments.

We can offer a range of specialist psychological therapies, including trauma focused therapy and support for managing anger.

Once you’ve been referred into our service, we’ll contact you to discuss your care plan and the treatment options available to you.

We’ll work closely with you to make sure that you’re receiving the most appropriate support, regularly review your care plan and involve your family and carers whenever possible.

To access our service, you’ll first need to be referred to our service from the Veterans Mental Health Transition, Intervention and Liaison Service (VMH TILS).

They’ll check your military background and assess your needs, making sure that you’re referred to the right mental health service and receive the best possible treatment.

You can self-refer into VMH TILS, or ask your GP or a military charity to make the referral for you.
