Work for us : Allied health professions
Overview
Allied health professionals (AHPs) are a vital and valued part of our community and mental health trust. We employ eight different types of AHPs across our services.
- Art therapists providing a form of psychological therapy that uses art media for expression and communication
- Dietitians diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional issues.
- Drama therapists use performance arts as a medium for psychological therapy.
- Occupational therapists help people who have difficulties carrying out day-to-day activities due to their health by teaching new ways to do things or making changes to their environment.
- Our paramedics work within our Urgent Community Response (UCR) service and assess patients who require an emergency response to prevent unnecessary admission to hospital.
- Physiotherapists help people improve their mobility and regain independence after an injury or operation.
- Podiatrists provide assessments and treatment for various foot and leg conditions.
- Speech and language therapists help people who have difficulties with communication, eating, drinking, and swallowing.
