Overview

When you join us as a newly qualified healthcare professional, you’re looking for a supportive environment to grow your skills and confidence. We understand your unique needs in your first year of practice, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Our 12-month multi-professional preceptorship programme is designed for our newly qualified nurses, nursing associates, and allied health professionals, providing a strong foundation for a successful career. 

After you start a newly qualified role with us, you’ll be automatically enrolled to our Preceptorship Programme.

We’re proud to have received the National Multiprofessional Preceptorship Quality Mark from NHS England, a prestigious recognition of our commitment to excellence.

Why choose our preceptorship programme

Our programme offers a structured pathway to help you excel.

  • Tailored clinical training: Gain hands-on training specific to your role, with guidance from a dedicated preceptor in your workplace.
  • Interactive development sessions: Participate in six sessions designed for preceptees, where you’ll expand your clinical knowledge, connect with other new healthcare professionals, and have time for reflection.
  • Collaborative initiatives: Take advantage of unique opportunities to work with our partner organisations on meaningful projects.
  • Development workbook: Track your progress, set personal goals, and showcase your achievements throughout the year.

Prospect Park preceptorship for mental health nurses

We provide extra preceptorship support for newly qualified mental health nurses working at Prospect Park Hospital.

From your first induction to your daily shifts, we’ll provide you with the development opportunities you need to support patients and progress your career:

  • leadership development programmes
  • career clinics
  • involvement in working parties and steering groups
  • job shadowing
  • full induction week
  • local and trust-wide preceptee networks
  • over 100 free training and development opportunities via our
  • staff eLearning system
  • six development days

We may also be able to offer secondments and apprenticeships.
