We have launched a new five-year strategy that sets out how we will improve care, reduce health inequalities and support people to live healthier, more independent lives.
A Healthier Future for All has been developed with colleagues, patients, carers, community organisations and partner organisations. It sets out our shared ambition for the future and how we'll continue to deliver high-quality care to the people and communities we serve.
What this means for you
Over the next five years, we'll focus on making it easier for people to access the care they need, when and where they need it.
Our priorities include:
- Providing more joined-up care by working closely with GPs, hospitals, local councils and voluntary organisations.
- Delivering more care closer to home, helping people stay healthy and independent for longer.
- Using digital technology to improve services and make it easier to access care.
- Focusing more on prevention and early support to help people stay well.
- Reducing health inequalities by improving access, experience and outcomes for communities who face the greatest barriers to good health.
Working together for healthier communities
We know that improving health is about more than healthcare alone.
That's why we'll continue working with local partners, community organisations and residents to develop services that meet the needs of local people and help tackle the wider factors that affect health and wellbeing.
Listening to patients, carers and communities will remain central to how we plan and improve our services.
Building on strong foundations
We already provide community health and mental health services to thousands of people across Berkshire every day.
Our new strategy builds on our existing strengths and reflects our commitment to providing safe, compassionate and high-quality care while continuing to improve the services we offer.
