
Walk-in sexual health service at the Garden Clinic, Slough
Our walk-in sexual health service is available at Upton Hospital Garden Clinic in Slough on selected days each week. The service is open to people of all ages on most days and does not require an appointment.

Walk-in service opening times
Monday (from 1 June 2026)
12:15pm – 6:30pm (all ages)
Wednesday
3:30pm – 5:30pm (under 18s only)
Friday (from 1 May 2026)
8:45am – 3:00pm (all ages)
Important information before you attend
Our walk-in service operates on a first-come, first-served basis and can be very busy.
- You should allow up to two hours for your visit. While we aim to see you as quickly as possible, this cannot be guaranteed.
- Once clinic capacity has been reached, we may not be able to see any more patients that day.
- If capacity is reached, you will be asked to book the next available appointment instead.
Contraception at walk-in appointments
We offer contraceptive services at walk-in appointments.
However, the following cannot be provided on a walk-in basis and must be pre-booked:
- Contraceptive implant fittings or exchanges.
- Coil fittings or exchanges.
Male and female clinicians
We have male and female sexual health staff working in our clinic, who carry out intimate examinations. We cannot guarantee whether your clinician will be male or female on the day.
Time‑critical care
If you need urgent care, please be aware of the following timeframes:
- Emergency contraception: must be accessed within 72–120 hours.
- PEPSE (HIV prevention treatment): must be accessed within 72 hours.
Services we do not provide
Please note that the walk‑in service does not offer the following services:
- Contraception for non‑contraceptive purposes (for example, to manage bleeding or for HRT only) – please contact your GP for referral to gynaecology.
- Menopause services or HRT.
- Sterilisation or vasectomy services.
- Termination of pregnancy services (please contact an appropriate abortion service provider).
- Gender reassignment services (please refer to NHS gender identity clinics).
- Certificates or printed STI results (including for fertility treatment purposes).
- Travel or occupational vaccinations.
Respect for our staff
We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff.
Aggressive, abusive or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances. This may result in you being asked to leave the clinic and, where appropriate, further action being taken.
