Berkshire Healthcare’s Kiddies’ Cabin Nursery marked its 20th anniversary with a celebration that brought together children, families, and staff.
Established in 2006, the nursery has spent the past twenty years providing a warm and nurturing environment for children aged from six months to school age. Housed in its distinctive purpose-built log cabin, Kiddies’ Cabin has become a familiar and much-loved space where generations of children have taken their first steps in learning, play, and social development.
The anniversary event was a full day of celebration. The morning began with visits from a play bus, with more fun following into the afternoon, when an entertainment team led interactive songs, which ended with a conga involving children, parents, and staff alike. Each child and staff member had also created a handprint, each attached to a ribbon, which was then cut by the Trust’s Chief
Executive, Julian Emms, as a way of marking the occasion.
The event concluded with everyone gathering to share a specially made 20th anniversary cake. Certificates were presented to both children and staff, recognising their role in the nursery’s ongoing story and commemorating the milestone.
The day not only celebrated Kiddies’ Cabin’s history but also highlighted its strong sense of community - an environment where children are supported to grow, families feel connected, and staff remain dedicated to providing high-quality care.
