Frequently asked questions

What is the “Living Well with ADHD” programme?

This is a free online programme we are offering to support you while you are waiting. It has been designed for people who have ADHD, think they may have ADHD, or are waiting for assessment. Many people tell us that waiting can be frustrating, so this programme is there to give you something practical and useful you can start right away.

Why have I been offered this?

We know that many people are waiting longer than we would like for assessment or treatment. We want to offer something that can help you understand your experiences and start making changes straight away.

What will I actually get from it?

The programme focuses on real-life strategies you can use day to day, including managing attention and concentration, getting organised, reducing procrastination, and understanding emotions and self-esteem. It is designed to help you feel more in control and more confident.

What does the programme involve?

There are eight short modules, each taking around 40 minutes. You can work through them at your own pace, either weekly or in a way that fits around your life. There is no pressure to complete everything - it is about using what works for you.

Do I need a diagnosis to use it?

No. The programme is suitable whether you already have a diagnosis, are waiting for assessment, or recognise some ADHD-related difficulties. Many people find it helpful for understanding their experiences before assessment.

Is it worth doing if I’m still waiting for assessment?

Yes. Many people find it helpful to better understand their strengths and challenges, try practical strategies, and feel more prepared for next steps in their care. It will not replace your assessment, but it can help you make the most of the time while you are waiting.

Is it monitored by a clinician?

No. This is a self-directed programme, which means you complete it yourself in your own time. There are no clinician check-ins or reviews, and you can use it privately and flexibly.

Will the team be able to see what I do on the programme?

No. We can see that you have signed up, but we cannot see what you complete or your responses within the programme.

Is this a replacement for assessment or treatment?

No. This is additional support and does not replace assessment or treatment. You will remain on the pathway for the care you need.

How do I access the programme?

You will receive a message explaining the offer, a link to request access, and then an email invitation with instructions on how to get started.

What if I don’t receive my invitation?

It will take us a while to contact everyone so please be patient. We aim to contact everyone by the end of July. If you have not received your by then please contact the service.

What if I’m not sure it’s for me?

That is completely understandable. We would encourage you to try a couple of modules and see how it feels. You can stop at any time, and there is no expectation to complete everything. You can choose what helps you most.

What if I need urgent support?

This programme is not monitored and is not designed for urgent or crisis support. If you need immediate help, please contact your GP, NHS urgent care services, or emergency services if needed.

The programme also has urgent help or support advice.

What if I have problems logging in?

You can use the help section on the login page or contact SilverCloud technical support if needed.
