Your safety and wellbeing remain our top priority

You may have seen recent news reports about our community equipment provider, NRS Healthcare, entering liquidation. We understand this may cause concern, especially for those who rely on essential equipment to live independently at home. We want to reassure you that we have robust plans in place to ensure continuity of service.

What’s happening?

NRS Healthcare, which has provided equipment such as hospital beds, hoists, grab rails and other mobility aids across Berkshire, ceased operations on Friday 1 August 2025.

What does this mean for you?

On 1 August, Millbrook Healthcare took over as the new provider of community equipment. We’ve been working hard to ensure that patients continue to receive the equipment they need during the transition, with minimal disruption.

We are working closely with West Berkshire Council, the six Berkshire local authorities, and NHS partners to manage this change safely and smoothly.

Contact

You can contact Millbrook Healthcare directly for support with equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I still receive the equipment I need?

We have contingency plans in place to ensure that urgent needs are met, including out-of-hours support for essential items like mattresses and nebulisers. During the transition period, there may be a delay to non-urgent items, and you may receive equipment in multiple deliveries.

Your clinician will discuss this with you to make you aware and look at what options are available to support you in the meantime.

What happens to equipment I already have?

You can continue using your current equipment. If it needs to be repaired, Millbrook Healthcare will handle this going forward.

If your equipment is usually serviced, Millbrook will be in contact in due course to organise this with you.

How do I arrange for equipment to be collected?

Collections are limited while we go through this transition period. Please keep hold of equipment for now. We’ll share more information once collections are up and running again.

If you have a profiling hospital type bed, or you have lost a loved one who was prescribed equipment and you would like the equipment collected, please contact Millbrook.
