This selection reflects our strong performance in meeting public priorities, delivering value for money under the NHS Oversight Framework, and achieving an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission – all of which reflect the high standard of care we provide.

We will now proceed through an independent evaluation of our performance in leadership, quality, and financial sustainability.

If successful, achieving Advanced Foundation Trust status will bring us greater autonomy over local decision-making, including how services are organised locally, and resources are allocated.

This announcement is a testament to the dedication, collaboration, and commitment of all our staff across Berkshire Healthcare. Whilst the assessment process is still to come, being part of this first cohort demonstrates that we are on track to achieve our vision: to be a great place to get care and a great place to give care.
