As of April 2026, Berkshire Healthcare staff will benefit from on site, independent and confidential advice from Citizens Advice, thanks to funding from Berkshire Healthcare Charity.
The free Citizen's Advice hubs will be available at two hospital sites, Upton Hospital in Slough and Prospect Park Hospital in Reading. Colleagues from across the Trust can access the service on site or by phone.
This initiative is designed to support staff with personal, financial and practical challenges that may affect their day-to-day life and work.
After a successful pilot year supporting staff in our neighbouring trust funded by Royal Berkshire Charity, the support from Citizens Advice has delivered more than £119,000 in financial gains for staff. On average those who fully engage with the service benefit by over £950 per year.
What Citizens Advice can help with
- Debt and money management
- Cost of living and energy costs
- Benefits and Universal Credit
- Housing concerns
- Employment rights
- Family and relationship matters
- Immigration queries (subject to adviser availability)
- Consumer and legal issues
