Free interactive webinar for our members

Date: Tuesday 16 June, 12–1pm
Where: Microsoft Teams (online)
Topic: Understanding men’s mental health

When it comes to men’s mental health, distress doesn’t always look the way we expect it to. Many men don’t openly say they’re struggling, and instead, difficulties can show up in more subtle ways.

Our next free Health Talk: Behind “I’m fine” – understanding men’s mental health, has been designed to help you recognise those early signs, understand what might be going on beneath the surface, and feel more confident having supportive conversations.

Rather than a traditional presentation, this session will use short, relatable scenarios and discussion to reflect real life experiences, and focus on practical responses that help.

This session is open to everyone in Berkshire with an interest in men’s mental health. Whether you want to know more about this topic or want to help someone you care about – join the webinar and be part of the conversation.

What we’ll cover:

  • Scenario-based conversations that explore subtle signs of distress, the different ways they express distress, barriers to talking (such as pressure, identity and stigma)
  • Identity, culture and context
  • Simple approach: Notice, Name, Normalise, Nudge
  • Practical ways to start conversations and what to avoid
  • Support and signposting
