Project developers, Darwin Group, showed visitors around the site at Skimped Hill which is expected to open later this year.

Bracknell Forest Centre for Health is part of a national programme to boost community-based healthcare services, and bring services together in one place. With better local services, people will be able to access care nearer home, reducing the need for them to go to hospital.

When completed, the centre will house a range of service supporting patients in Bracknell and wider Bracknell Forest area, including physical and mental health community services provided by Berkshire Healthcare, two GP practices provided by Evergreen Practice and Forest Health Group including, alongside maternity services provided by Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Sri Nellagiri, Service Director for Scheduled Care services at Berkshire Healthcare said:
“Seeing the site in real life really puts into perspective what a transformation this new facility will be. Working alongside our colleagues in primary care and Frimley Health in a modern, tailor-made space will allow us to support our community better than ever before. It’s hard to believe this has been built from the ground up in such a short space of time, we can’t wait to see the finished result.”

Visiting the Skimped Hill Medical Centre

While the building work takes place the side path to the building will be closed but the main path will remain open, and disabled access will still be available via the ramp at the rear of the building. A couple of parking spaces will also be unavailable during this time.
