Overview

We provide nursery places for children of Berkshire Healthcare employees as well as children in the local area.

Our nurseries are owned, managed and supported by the NHS and all of our staff are employed by the NHS.

You don't need to work for the NHS to secure a place.

Our three nurseries are:

• Jack-in-the-Box, at Upton Hospital in Slough
• Kiddies' Cabin, at St Mark’s Hospital in Maidenhead
• Little Dragons, at our offices on Bath Road in Reading

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, providing opportunities for creative play, and learning and development, and supporting children’s needs and interests.

Our nurseries, each have their own unique character and strengths. All share the same commitment to high-quality care, learning, and safety. 

Secure your place

We care for children up until 31 August in the year that they start school. We benefit from having a linked health visitor and we work with speech and language therapists and other professionals.

We're open from 7.30am to 6pm, for 51 weeks per year.

Nursery days are for 10 hours and children attend a minimum of two days per week.

Children may access the 15 and 30 hours funding at our nurseries, which can be stretched across the 51 weeks that we are open.
