Make Yourself Heard campaign
Make Yourself Heard is a police campaign about how to get urgent help from the police when someone is unable to speak. This can be particular useful for victims of domestic abuse who are in the same house as the perpetrator. After dialing 999 if the caller is unable to speak or make any sounds then you will be prompted to press 55.
This will inform the police you are a genuine caller and not just a hoax or a dialling error.
Social isolation can increase the risk for those who are living in difficult situations at home.
There are emergency helplines you can contact for support.

Safeguarding Children
The safety and welfare of children - or safeguarding - is everyone's business. Berkshire West have produced lots of helpful information for parents and carers on safeguarding children. The website is a dedicated page with lots of information and advice for our children, parents, carers and practitioners. It covers subjects such as domestic abuse, emotional health, financial help, coping strategies for new parents, home schooling, keeping children safe online and leaving children at home.
They have also produced lots of information on safeguarding for babies: keeping babies safe from abuse, dealing with infant crying and safe sleeping.
